Human-AI Collaboration Exploratory Report

My trend research fed into the R&D agenda; once a topic was selected, it then underwent exploratory research, aimed at delivering a clearer understanding of the technology, trend, and their implications. This particular report generated multiple additional follow-up reports. The initital research was kicked off in Autumn 2023 but we had already been experimenting in the generative AI space for over a year at that point.

WHAT

• Exploratory research into the sociotechnical implications of human-AI colloaboration

WHY

• It was clear that this technology changes the game significantly and we needed to understand not just what was happening now, but its implications for both near and far-term futures to prepare our workforce and our clients’ for the disruption

HOW

• Strategic foresight process including: quantitative and qualitative data collection / observation; collective synthesis / analysis; and speculation

• Primary and secondary research on the themes gleaned from strategic foresight research

• Hands-on experimentation with generative AI technologies

OUTCOMES

• Drove productization strategy at Avanade, particularly around digital human-AI collaboration and agentic AI

• Shaped technology development and deployment at multiple global clients

• Enhanced Avanade’s thought leadership profile in the market
